Allyssa Richards, SLP

Clinical Lead, Speech Therapist

I received my Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from University of Texas at Dallas. I hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and I am licensed to practice in Iowa.

Since starting my SLP career, I have worked in pediatric private practices. My passion is treating children ages 1-12 years old. I have experience in evaluation and treatment of children with childhood apraxia of speech, speech sound disorders, feeding disorders, fluency disorders, intellectual disabilities, expressive and receptive language disorders, pragmatic disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and Down syndrome. Additionally, I have experience with high- and low-tech Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices and working with children with hearing loss.

Kelsey Huss, OT

Occupational Therapist

I received my doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from Drake University. I am licensed to practice in Iowa and hold my national registration through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). 

Since starting my occupational therapy career, I have worked with individuals throughout the lifespan. I have experience working with a variety of physical conditions as well as mental or intellectual conditions, including sensory processing disorder. I have extensive experience working with individuals with autism.

As an occupational therapist, I am passionate about helping those of all ages fully engage in their lives. I believe that all people, regardless of abilities, should be able to participate in activities that they want to do.

Kacy Schmiedt, SLP

Speech Therapist

I received my master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. I hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and I am licensed to practice in Iowa.

I am a Speech-Language Pathologist who is passionate about helping individuals build strong communication skills in an engaging, supportive environment. I enjoy working with pediatric clients as well as young adults to address speech sound disorders, expressive and receptive language skills, stuttering, social communication skills, and more. My favorite part of my job is making genuine connections with clients and families and collaborating as a team toward a common goal. I believe therapy should be fun, individualized, and client-centered. I work closely with families and caregivers to ensure skills learned in therapy carry over into everyday life. My goal is to help each individual gain confidence and reach their full potential.
